LEAVENWORTH, IN. Love’s Travel Stops are finalizing plans to build a new location in Crawford County. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in spring/summer 2021 and should be completed by the end of the year. The location will be at the Interstate 64 Carefree/ Leavenworth interchange.
“We are excited to join the Crawford community,” said Rick Shuffield, vice president of real estate for Love’s. “We place Love’s in locations that are easy to access for professional and four-wheel traffic and this is a great location to do that.”
“This is a huge game changer and a much-needed development for Crawford County,” said Morton Dale, Crawford County Commissioner & President of the Economic Development Partnership. “The Crawford County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP) engaged with Love’s a few months ago when they were doing their due diligence and site surveys, and we wanted to communicate our support and our enthusiastic welcome to our community.”
CCEDP Director Michael Thissen said, “We are really glad that Love’s Travel Stops has decided to invest in our county to add a new location and bring new jobs, especially in a challenging climate. We are grateful to state officials, most notably INDOT, for working with them so we can celebrate together. The positive economic impact will allow for additional business growth and increase our capacity for entrepreneurship and attraction.”
Love’s Travel Stops announced plans in January to open 40 new truck stops in 2020, adding 3,000 more parking spots and creating 2,500 jobs around the country. In 2019, Love’s hit a milestone when it opened its 500th location. This year, in addition to opening new facilities, the company has expanded its selection of goods and services with items like Love’s-branded items.
Love’s Travel Stops is headquartered in Oklahoma City. Founded in 1964, Love’s has more than 530 locations in 41 states.
